Wait, a non-WPF post? Err... Charles Petzold did write 2 books on WPF right? WPF runs on a computer; Turing had something do to with that right? The Entsheidungsproblem is basically concerned with algorithms, and there are algorithms in the WPF-Framework, right? Posted by Ruben Steins
Ok, so this post has nothing to do with WPF, but I just wanted to say that this weekend I read the first half of The Annotated Turing by Charles Petzold. A great book which I fully recommend to everyone remotely interested in the thing you're sitting behind right now. If you've read Petzold's other book 'Code', and liked it, you're probably going to love the Turing one.
Coming from a non-Computer Science background the thought of reading such an elemetary paper seemed pretty daunting to me, but having Petzold as my guide makes it all seem so much more easy. After reading one senctence by Turing and three paragraphs by Petzold explaining that sentence it all becomes clear. Furhtermore, the topic is wickedly interesting. So all in all: you should get this book!
