Tim Heuer posted a nice intro into the new Visual State Manager in Silverlight 2.0 beta 2 and how to use it. It's pretty easy and makes designing multiple states for your controls straightforward.

Christian Shormann actually came up with a demo-app in which he uses it to display guitar chords.

Celso made an anouncement that Nibbles tutorials will feature 5 Silverligt 2 beta 2 tutorials one of which is focussing on the Visual State Manager!

Last but not least Jesse Liberty (Silverlight Geek) will be hosting a Webast about buttons using the VSM. VSM is hot, apparantly :P

Allthough you could very well build one from scratch, Derek Bartram's Ribbon Control library from WPF does a lot of work for you. Alas you can only use C# to create them instead of XAML. Alternative libraries you could use for the creation of Ribbon bars can be found at this Ribbon UI Control Roundup, which is a bit old but still contains usefull links. A lot of useful techniques are found in the Outlook UI Clone Lab.

Their current post only features one WPF-related article and one Silverlight 2.0, but they're both interesting. Both link to series of articles: Animation In-Depth With Silverlight 2.0 and a series on WPF and Powershell. The other articles are general .NET and APS.NET related;

Jesse Liberty posts about a looming threat to the Silverlight and WPF communities. After the Browser War and the War or Terror behold the XAW (Xaml Acronym War)! :D

Luckily Jesse allready explains the signifance of this new development rather thoroughly in his post...
